We host field trips for day-care centres (ages 18 months and up) up to Grade Two. Montessori Schools, Full Day Kindergarten and Grade One are most popular age groups. We also offer all of our program options to Home-schoolers and facilities that specialize in children with special needs.
If there are a minimum of 40 students, we close the facility to the public for the duration of the trip. We do open every day at 12:30 for public Drop-in, but our private lunchrooms are still available for Field Trip children to use during that time before they board the bus.
Adults do not pay any admission to Tiny Town Vaughan during field trips, but they must have permission from their facility to be a supervisor.
Younger siblings are allowed with the permission of the school/facility that is hosting the trip. A Tiny Town Vaughan waiver will need to be filled out for the sibling and payment can be made at reception.
Yes, we do. Tiny Town Vaughan provides a unique experience where children feel like they are here to have fun, all while teachers know their students are learning key curriculum. Our craft component in the Play Platinum Program links specific curriculum ‘expectations’ as set out by the Ontario Ministry of Education, to specific grade levels and subjects. The craft activity is chosen by the classroom teacher.
Yes! All of our programs are run by Tiny Town Vaughan Education Facilitators. Although we do ask that classroom teachers and supervisors help monitor the children while playing in the Town, assist with the Scavenger Hunt and Craft Programs, it is our staff that will run the full program to ensure activities are completed and in a timely manner.
We have 3 programs to choose from (Play, Play Plus and Play Platinum). Descriptions are available at the top of the page. Any program can be chosen, but trips with more than 60 students will automatically book for the Platinum Program. This allows us to divide students into smaller groups between free play in the Town and the craft room. Our facilitator will also give a short ‘Rule and Safety’ talk when the children arrive and let them know how the structure of the morning will go.
To secure a booking, please submit a request on the INQUIRY FORM
at the top of the page. It will ask for 3 possible dates. Availability will be on a first come basis. A $100 deposit
and confirmation of receipt will secure the trip. The quickest way to book is to pay the deposit by credit card. If a date you have requested has been booked, we will contact you by email with an update of availability or alternate date.
At the time of booking, we ask for an approximate number of children. Final numbers can be changed up to ONE WEEK before the trip date. An updated invoice will be emailed. If a student cannot attend on the day of the trip, we will issue a RETURN PLAY PASS, so that they can come back for a free-play visit.
Yes. We encourage children to bring a peanut free snack and/or lunch and water bottle with them. We have dedicated lunchrooms that the students and staff will use during the trip. We do have a café with beverages, snacks and light lunch options for adults. If you would like us to provide lunch or snacks for your trip, please ask our Trip Coordinator for details and we would be happy to do so!
We are a proud supplier of Melissa and Doug educational toys. Many of the toys can be found in the Town and are available for purchase during the trip. We do offer a 10% discount to teachers (and parents) who attend a Field Trip. The discount only applies during the trip. We can also special-order items for your classroom at a discounted rate.
No. The balance of the payment for the trip must be made upon arrival. We do not invoice and receive payment after the trip date. We cannot make exceptions, so please do not book knowing that your facility will not be able to make payment the day of the trip. We accept school cheques, cash, credit card or debit payments.
Yes, we are. In order to maintain a top level of cleanliness in our facility, we ask all guests (children and adults) to leave all outdoor shoes in out Coat Room. Children must be in socks and adults can be in socks or our complimentary flip flops. All of our flooring has a special non slip coating, so children are safest in sock feet. Strollers are not permitted beyond the Coat Room.
We have a great referral program for our Field Trips! For anybody who refers Tiny Town Vaughan to a co-worker, friend etc. and this results in a booked trip, we will send you a $25 Gift Certificate to be used at Tiny Town Vaughan. You can use it for Drop in and Play, a birthday party booking, a special event, in the café or even with our great retail line!
